Christmas Cards 2013 - 2

Here are more cards I have been working on.  Still more to go and it is Saturday before Christmas.  I guess it does not matter if they get them late huh?  It's the thought that counts right?  :-)

Yeah I am so so late with these.  I have GOT to start earlier next year - maybe one a month til next Christmas?  That oughta do it right?  Well here are a few I have done.  Enjoy!

Beaded Flower Tutorial

I made a flower out of beads and put it on a card awhile back and had a lot of requests to do a tutorial.  So here it is.  I got this idea from a lady on YouTube. I think her name was Beth Henry and I think also that that is how her YouTube channel is listed - not sure.

Anyway, it is very simple to do but you have to practice in order to get spacing the way you really want it because I did one and it turned out to have 9 petals and then did another one and I could only get 8 petals in there.  So spacing is the key as to how many petals you wind up with.

Card with Bead Flower

I created the bead flower on this card using a tutorial I saw on YouTube about a year ago.  I think the girl who did it was Beth Henry but not sure.  I have been wanting to do the flower but just kept putting it off.  So I finally did it and it turned out really cute so I wanted to put it on a card. I used a card I had already done but it was really plain.  I put the bead flower and all the flourishes on it which made it look much better.

I plan on doing a tutorial on this flower so stay turned to my YouTube channel. Here is a video on this card.  Enjoy!

Halloween Cards

Yeah, I know.  I am posting this just a little bit late.  OH well.  Here are my very FIRST Halloween cards I have ever done.  The one with the ghost and mummy was the first one and I used Websters Pages paper that I got in that Warehouse Sale box a couple of years ago.  The trim also was in there.  I think it turned out pretty good.  What do you think?

Card Using the Spellbinders Cut, Fold & Tuck Die

When I had my crop back in July, I took a lot of new dies with me so I could play around and see how they looked cut out.  This was one of the dies I cut and did not use at the crop so I saved it knowing I would use it sooner or later.  So I put a card together and this is how it turned out.

 I used a stick pin my scrappy friend ScrapenJeni gave me over a year ago knowing I would use it one day and this was a perfect card to put it on.

 

The inside needed something so I die cut one of the other pieces to this set and it turned out so cute.

 

I was having problems with the lace border on the front staying down, so I think I need to use a different adhesive - maybe the fabric tac or something. I hope you like the card. Thanks tons!

 

WRMK Envelope Maker

I finally bit the bullet and bought the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Maker.  I got it at Hobby Lobby and used a coupon.  I knew I wanted to get it sooner or later and when I saw it, I just had to get it. 

Thinking of You Card

Here is a card I did for a scrappy friend.  Sending to her because she is really a special person.  She gives inspiration to all - not only crafty inspiration but also because she is going through so much in her life and yet she still manages to help others and give encouraging words to them if they have issues of their own.  She is such a sweetie pie.  Here is the video I did on her card.  I don't think I took any stills of it but oh well.  Enjoy.

Owl Friend Card

Made a Friend card and wanted to use some cute owl stickers that I have for awhile.  I used a background cloud stamp by My Pink Design and a few punches. I popped up some clouds and a tree I punched out.  And I have a small flower punch that I used to do the flower cluster at the bottom. I hope you like it.

On the inside of the card I used a border punch for the trees and then just put another cute owl sticker at bottom.

Shabby Chic ? Card

Wanted to try something different for me so I made a card that is very dimensional. I really think it turned out very cute.  It took me forever to work on it because I am not used to making these types of cards but I always wanted to try it.

Get Whale Soon

I made a Get "Whale" Soon card that turned out oh so cute!  I used an applique type for the front focal (the whale) and put a gem in place of the eye (there was nothing there). I put various papers I had in my scrap stash.  The sentiment came from My Pink Stamper's Punnylicious stamp set (I think). Very cute stamps in there.

I did some faux stitching around the edges.  The inside I used some of the same papers. I intended to give this to a friend who was sick but by the time I finished it, she was not sick anymore. LOL  I guess it can wait until another sicky comes around. Here is a video explaining the card a little.  Enjoy!

Happy LATE birthday to my scrappy friend Stacy (FroggieGreenStamper on YouTube).  I wanted to send her some goodies but I kept forgetting to get it together to mail out.  I finally did.....uh....3 months later.  Geez!  I guess better late than never huh?

 

So The Wedding Day Came and Went..What Next?

Well I am officially a mother-in-law!  That sounds really weird.  But Daniel married a wonderful girl last month.  She is just so sweet and adorable.  I pray that they continue to follow God and that they have a wonderful marriage.  My hubby and I just celebrated our 27th anniversary.  I have known him for 30 years.  Boy!  THAT is a long time.  I hope we make it to our 50th anniversary...meaning we live that long, of course.  I pray that Daniel and Amy make it to 50 years as well.

 The wedding was wonderful.  Amy and her mom did a wonderful job on the wedding. It was really simple and cute.  She did not go "all out" on a lot of unnecessary things.  The reception was great too.  Everything went very well.  This is one of many layouts I am doing for a wedding album.  This one is going to be a black and white theme.  I am sure I will be doing more and probably some mini albums in different colors. The video shows the layout and some flowers I made to go with the album.

 

It was a wonderful day.  We will miss seeing him every day but I know we have to let them loose sometime.  Ryan is in college so at least I know he will be coming home some time.  Although I am not there for him every day, I know he is getting a good education that will help him start his life as well.  Did someone say "empty nest"?

Rosie's Place Challenge at BethsScrapbookRoom

Beth with BethsScrapbookRoom has committed herself to doing these "challenges" every month based on suggestions from her subbies.  Last month was to do cards for a children's hospital. She gathered them up and hand delivered them to the hospital herself.  It was one that was close to where she lived. This month is to do cards and donate items to Rosie's Place which is a women's shelter. Not sure what next month is but every month will be something fun.  Here is a video of the cards I made for Rosie's Place which I sent to Beth.  She is gathering up all the cards and items so she can take them to Rosie's Place next month. 

 

We are having so much fun doing these little challenges.  Beth's poor postman is going crazy with all the packages that are being delivered to her.  LOL!!  You can go to Rosie's Place online to check out how you can help with this wonderful organization.

Crochet Flowers

Valentine's Day Cards 2013

Here are a few Valentine's Day cards I made at my recent crop.  I put one of them in a contest they were having and got 2nd place.  However there were only 2 people in the contest. My scrappy friend Robbie won that one.  She does wonderful cards. She deserved the win.  Congrats friend!  At least I got SOMETHING done this time. 

This is the one I entered into the contest. I think I "over-blinged" it.  Is that even possible? What do you think?  I was trying out a technique I am going to present in my technique video series coming soon...iris folding.  It was a bit time consuming but I think it turned out okay.  Practice makes perfect though huh?  I also made the flower and needed something else.  So I put the swirly bling in.  My son wound up giving this to his girlfriend.  She love it...especially the cameo in the middle of the heart.



 This little guy is a digi and came from Scrappin Doodles.  Isn't he the cutest?  He was already colored so I did not have to do it. I put glossy accents on his glasses and some stickles on the words and heart flower. He's just adorable!

I think this one is my favorite because it is simple and elegant looking.  It is also a digi from TLC. I just cut it out with a spellbinder and the hearts are a punch. I added lace trim and some bling.  Love it.
