Cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive - Late Post

I know I am so so late posting this but thought you may want to see it anyway.  Here are the cards I donated to the Caring Hearts Card Drive that went on awhile back.  I was able to send several cards this year.  I hope whoever gets one will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making them.

I am hoping next year I can do a lot more.  Maybe I should start early on making them huh?

Hugs!

Cards for Donation

I had more than enough cards in my stash to share so I decided to send some to different places for donation.  There are several organizations all over the country that could benefit from several different types of donations, including greeting cards.  Here are some of the cards that I am sending.

These particular cards are going to a pregnancy center in Ohio.  Baby cards are just one need, but they also need thank you cards that they send to donors and birthday cards they send to volunteers.

I also have some cards going to a senior center in New York.  I love making cards and having some place to actually send my overflow is just a bonus.

Hugs,
Karen Sue

Halloween Cards 2016

I did a few Halloween cards this year.  I am not much into Halloween since our kids grew up but when our grandchildren get older, it will be something I will enjoy a little more.  Here are the cards.

Watch the video below to get a closer look at them.

Thanks so much!

Queen & Co. Butterfly Shaker Card

I went to my crop with Crop Connection at the end of July and was able to work on a wedding album for my aunt.  However, during the crop, they have contests.  One of which is to judge a project you do in different categories...cards, one page layouts, two page layouts, and 3D projects like mini albums, or canvases, etc.  So I did a card.  I decided that I wanted to make the card that I ordered from Queen & Co. that is a shaker card kit.  They have a different kit every few months and it includes the die to cut out the top layer that goes with the foam front.  They also include the little shaker parts and in the case of my card, it included their new "diamond" shaker elements.  Wow!!  They are so pretty.  I am so glad I got that one.  They only have them for a little while, then they are gone.  And I could not see where you could order past kits.  Bummer!  Oh well, the last one they did was a snowcone/cupcake shaker.  It was cute but not enough for me to get.  So I am waiting to see what the next one is.

Here is the card I made.  I think it came out so stinkin cute.  And apparently the crop judges did too because I won FIRST PLACE!!!  Whoo hoo!!!  The prize I got for winning was a scrapbook kit that included the papers, and all the ephemera that go with it. So it was well worth the FUN I had putting the card together. LOL  I can't remember the name of the kit for this post but I believe I tell you in the video below because I show the whole kit.

The flowers that I added were Recollection flowers from Michaels. I also added a metal butterfly with a little bling on it.  The sentiment came from a Hot Off the Press stamp set (and I can't remember the name of it) with the feathers on it.
Watch the video so you can see it a little better up close.  I also show the prize I got as well.  Let me know what you think about the card.  Thanks tons!

Hunkydory Christmas Cards

I got some Hunkydory topper sets to put together as Christmas cards.  They are beautiful. They just pop out and you make a card out of them.  They showed only two samples on the packaging but I got four cards out of one package.  I could probably have gotten more if I wanted to.

The kit comes with two pattern papers and a sheet of toppers which include images and sentiments.  The paper itself is of chipboard quality.  Very thick, but easy to work with.  Here is a video of the cards up close.

Let me know what you think.  These are great when you are in a hurry to make a card.

Response to Kimbo Kreations' Baby Card (New Parent) Challenge

Kim at Kimbo Kreations is going to be a brand new grandmother.  Whoo Hoo!!!!  I am so excited for her.  Why?  Because I know what it feels like to be one.  I was a brand new grandma two years ago.  But now I am going to be a grandma again at the end of September.  I am so excited.....again.  So Kim wanted to do a challenge to celebrate the news of her being a new grandmother.  She wants us to do a new baby card for her son and daughter-in-law and also wants us to provide new parent advice if we could. Of course, I had to put in my two cents worth of advice.  LOL  Here is a picture of the card and my advice to the new parents.  I hope it helps.

She also said we could suggest baby names if we wanted to.  I chose not to because there are so many names I like.  My son and his wife have decided on a name for their second son and I really like the name.  However, she kinda wants it to be a double first name type thing which I am not really too fond of.  It's okay but just not something I would want to do.  And I am not sure if I could ever remember to call him both names.  Fortunately those names have initials that go well together so that may eventually become his name.  I don't think she likes that idea but he may decide when he is older that he does like it.  But I will do what they want me to as far as the name goes.

Here is the video I did to show the card better.  Let me know what you think about it.  Did I give good advice?  I hope so.  Big hugs guys!

Flower Pot Card

I have always wanted to do a card like this but with most projects, it gets put on the back burner.  I have several projects I wanted to do first but I figured I would do it because I needed a birthday card for my dad's wife.  She likes planting flowers, etc., so it was a perfect card to make.  I had a few issues in the process but it I think it turned out okay.  I forgot to take pictures of it before I sent it off but below is the video that will show it better.  Let me know what you think.  Hugs!

LSH Pocket Letter Swap

Another swap with alilscrapofheaven.  A pocket letter you say?  Yep!  I'm not sure why I signed up for it because those things intimidate me so much.  Every time I do one, I am just a nervous wreck.  Why!?  I look for background paper and put out a few things to put on them like flowers or lace or washi.  Then I have to figure out what to put in the back of the pockets.  Of course, I have to get some inspiration from Pinterest but sometimes I feel like I should be all original.  Oh well, it is what it is I guess.

I think it turned out okay.  The themes were either shabby chic, vintage or clean and simple (I think).  She wanted a combination of all if I could.  However, I just made it sorta shabby I guess.  I hope she likes it though.

Here is a video so you can see it closer.  If you are viewing this in an email, the video may not show up so please click on the title of the post to see the video.

Let me know what you guys think. I am still trying to perfect the Pocket Letter. Not sure I will ever do it though.  Hugs!

LSH Father's Day Tag Swap

Another swap I did through alilscrapofheaven is one for a Father's Day Tag.  I knew that I wanted to put burlap on it somewhere but really was not sure what to do about the rest.  So I went to Pinterest for help. I found a project someone had done that used burlap and they placed an image on top.  But as I was going through my stash to figure out if I had anything to use, I found some wooden deer heads which was perfect.

I had a stamp set that had meadow and field-type backgrounds so I used it at the bottom.  I also made a little pocket on the back with a piece of cardstock so a note can be written on it.  The background paper came from a Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) stack called Etc. which has a bunch of textures in it...like wood, metal, peeling paint and that sort.

I also did a video which is below so you can see it better and maybe get more details regarding the tag.  If you are viewing this in an email, the video may not show up.  You can click here to go to the video.

Let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by!

LSH Flower Swap

I signed up for a few swaps with alilscrapofheaven and the first one was the flower swap.  We had to make 12 handmade flowers to send to your partner.  I had the most fun making these.  I think they turned out really nice.  And my partner really liked them.  So glad!

Here is a video so you can see them up close.  I explain a little bit about them.  I tried to make them all different.  On a few were similar.

Let me know what you think.  Hugs!

Paper Clip Art

Ok so this is a new thing for me.  I kept seeing other peeps making embellishments for their projects and putting paper clips on them. So I thought I would see what I could come up with.  I also started following a Paper Clip Art facebook group and there are all kinds of inspiration on there.

Here are some of the embellies I made.  Let me know what you think about them.

Here is a closer look at them.

I also made some plain embellies without the paper clips.

Here is a video explaining how I did some of them.  Enjoy.

Birthday Card for Grandson - He's 2 !!!!

My sweetie pie grandson turned 2 on April 23rd.  The theme of his party was Gone Fishing.  His mama did a great job of getting all the decorations together.  Unfortunately the poor little thing could not even attend the party because she was so so sick.  She was so upset about it but there was no way she could make it.  I tried to calm her to say not to stress; that there will be plenty more birthdays.  But I know how she feels if I would have missed any of my kids' birthdays.  Well her husband (my son) did an excellent job in taking over the reigns.  He had to do most of the prep work and get everything ready.  I helped a little but he did most of it. He also had to take care of his son who was for some reason wanting his daddy to hold him most of the time until, of course, his cousin Brewer showed up.  They love playing together.  Here is a pic of the card I made him.

I got this idea from Niki Toll on pinterest.  She is a Stampin Up demonstrator and did this punch art fishy. I think it turned out so cute. Here is the video I did on it.  Thanks for watching!  Hugs

Tinkerbell says......

I did a birthday card for my uncle.  He loves, of all things, Tinkerbell. Who knew?  Well I did and a bunch of other people know, including his girlfriend. But just by looking at him, you would never know he was into collecting all things Tinkerbell.  His trailer has Tinkerbell all over the place. I'd say it was a "shrine"?  So funny.

One year he gave me a Tinkerbell birthday card and I was amazed that he even parted with it. But he said he expected it back for his birthday. LOL  I was actually going to do that...send it back to him on his birthday.  However, I could not find the darn thing.  So I just made a new one.

I used the Cricut cartridge Tinkerbell which had a lot of good images of Tinkerbell and her friends.  Below is a video showing the card.  Let me know what you think.  Hugs!
